During a recent panel on “NewsNight,” Phillip criticized Trump for attacking his own base, calling them “stupid and weak” for caring about potentially incriminating information in the Epstein files. Phillip argued that Trump should just own up to any association with Epstein, like others who socialized with him in the past.

Referencing a report from the Wall Street Journal, it was noted that officials had informed Trump about unverified hearsay in the Epstein files, including information about people, like Trump, who had socialized with Epstein. Jennings defended Trump, citing a fact check from The Washington Post that found no evidence of inappropriate behavior by the president in relation to Epstein.

Phillip pointed out that Trump’s inclusion in the Epstein files wouldn’t be a surprise, given his long history of association with Epstein. Jennings dismissed the issue as “old news,” questioning why Trump should have to address it at all.

Navarro chimed in, emphasizing that Trump and Epstein were not just associates, but close friends who socialized together for years. She highlighted a past disagreement between the two over a real estate deal, where Trump acknowledged Epstein’s preference for younger girls. Navarro suggested that despite being “old news,” the information in the Epstein files is still significant.
