Authorities in Traverse City, Michigan, are preparing to charge a man who allegedly entered a Walmart and randomly stabbed 11 shoppers before being subdued by bystanders in the parking lot. The suspect, Bradford Gille of Afton, Michigan, is expected to face terrorism and multiple assault charges.

Sheriff Michael Shea commended law enforcement officers for their quick response and bystanders for intervening to prevent further harm. The incident, which started near the checkout counter, left 11 victims, including a Walmart employee, with injuries ranging from serious to fair condition.

One witness, Steven Carter, described the chaotic scene in the parking lot, where shoppers confronted the suspect with one person even holding a gun. Another witness, Tiffany DeFell, expressed shock at the event, stating, “This is something you see out of the movies. It’s not what you expect to see where you’re living.”

Walmart announced that it would cooperate with the investigation and provide support to its associates. The store remains closed, with no set reopening date. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino pledged assistance in the aftermath of the attack.

Traverse City, known for its cherry festival and scenic attractions, is reeling from the incident. The community is coming together to support the victims and ensure such violence does not disrupt daily life.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack and provide justice for the victims and their families.
