Imagining the future can be both fascinating and unnerving, especially when considering how technology will shape our culture in the coming centuries. Artist Thomas Doyle takes us on a thought-provoking journey with his new series, “Clear History,” which explores a dystopian vision of the future through miniature sculptures.

Working at a scale of 1:43 and smaller, Doyle’s sculptures evoke classical Greek and Roman statues but with a modern twist. In “Clickthrough rate,” a woman’s head is pierced by sharp rays, symbolizing the overwhelming influence of technology. Meanwhile, “Opt in” depicts a hunched figure, reflecting the posture many of us adopt while engaging with digital devices.

Doyle’s work delves into the consequences of our current technological obsession by examining how today’s culture may be perceived in the future. He reflects on the ways in which past civilizations have shaped our present and how our current actions will influence generations to come.

Displayed at the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago, Doyle’s sculptures invite viewers to contemplate the evolution of technology and its impact on society. Through his art, he poses questions about the legacy we are creating and the symbols that may define our future.
