Fashion enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the upcoming biopic about the iconic stylist and editor Isabella Blow, titled “The Queen of Fashion.” Directed by Alex Marx, who has been working on this project for over nine years, the film will star the talented Andrea Riseborough as the eccentric style maven. Riseborough, known for her roles in acclaimed films like “Birdman” and “The Death of Stalin,” is sure to bring Blow’s fascinating story to life on the big screen.

The film will delve into the highs and lows of Blow’s life, as she championed unknown and marginalized fashion figures such as Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, and Sophie Dahl. Despite struggling with undiagnosed bipolar disorder, Blow played a pivotal role in launching the careers of these talented individuals. Born in London, she moved to New York to study before working for Guy Laroche in Texas. She later returned to Manhattan to assist Anna Wintour at Vogue US, forming friendships with Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat along the way. Her unique style, including Treacy’s outlandish hats, caught the attention of the fashion world, leading her to become Tatler’s fashion director.

Blow faced personal challenges, including battles with depression, bipolar disorder, and ovarian cancer. Tragically, she took her own life in 2007 at the age of 48. The film will explore her complex relationships with her father, played by Richard E. Grant, and her childhood friend Daphne Guinness, portrayed by Stacy Martin. Fionn O’Shea will take on the role of Philip Treacy, while Michelle Dockery will portray former British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman.
