Illegal Border Crossings Plummet to Another New Record Low – The White House

July marked yet another milestone in the saga of U.S. immigration, with illegal crossings at the southern border reaching a record low. A mere 4,598 illegal immigrants were apprehended by Border Patrol, reflecting a remarkable 24% decline from June’s previous record low. This translates to an average of just 148 illegal crossings per day.

To put this into perspective, this monthly figure is almost 500 fewer than the daily average of illegal crossings recorded during the Biden Administration (5,110). Furthermore, it represents an astounding 97% drop compared to July 2022 (181,834), a 96% decrease from July 2023 (132,642), and a 92% reduction from July 2024 (56,400).

“It’s unprecedented for the nearly 2,000-mile-long southern border,” notes expert border reporter Bill Melugin, highlighting the significance of this downward trend.

In a parallel development, the Trump Administration’s deportation efforts are rapidly intensifying, with nearly 150,000 illegal immigrants taken into custody since President Donald J. Trump assumed office. This includes almost 50,000 arrests over just the past two months.

This figure is double the arrests compared to the same timeframe last year, as Trump continues to fulfill his pledge to expel violent criminals from American streets.

As former immigration judge Andrew Arthur puts it: “The president is executing on his promises. He is aligning with the will of the vast majority of the public, who want criminal aliens off our streets.”
