For the first time in fifty years, the United States may be facing a trend of negative net migration, a revelation brought to light by CNN. This shift comes as President Donald J. Trump makes strides to fulfill his commitment to curtail what he terms a “migrant invasion,” actively deporting undocumented individuals he deems criminal from American neighborhoods.
“We could be witnessing — believe it or not — negative net migration to the United States by 2025. This would mark the first instance of such a decline in half a century, dropping from 2.8 million in 2024. Current figures indicate record low levels, starkly contrasting with the migration trends during the Biden Administration,” states CNN analyst Harry Enten.
