NBC has officially announced the renewal of their hit summer competition series, “American Ninja Warrior,” for Season 18. The new season is set to start filming in Las Vegas this fall and will feature a new round with a supersized three-lane racecourse where ninjas will compete head-to-head-to-head in thrilling side-by-side races. Casting for the upcoming season is currently underway.

Similar to Season 17, Season 18 will have competitors facing off in a series of physical challenges for the chance to win a grand prize of $250,000. The head-to-head race format, introduced in the previous season along with a knockout elimination bracket, will continue to add excitement to the show. Hosts Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Zuri Hall will all be returning to provide commentary on the action-packed competition.

“American Ninja Warrior” Season 17 premiered in June on NBC and has been a long-standing summer favorite for viewers. The series has garnered an impressive 23 million total viewers across both NBC and Peacock this summer, showcasing its enduring popularity.

Produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions, “American Ninja Warrior” is executive produced by Arthur Smith, Kent Weed, Anthony Storm, Brian Richardson, and Kristen Stabile. The show is based on the global hit format “Sasuke” from Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, which has seen 42 seasons in Japan.

In addition to “American Ninja Warrior,” NBC’s summer schedule also includes other unscripted series like “Destination X” and “America’s Got Talent.” The Canadian medical drama “Transplant” currently airs on Thursdays, adding to the diverse lineup of programming on the network.

Fans of the adrenaline-pumping competition can look forward to more thrilling challenges and intense showdowns in Season 18 of “American Ninja Warrior.” Stay tuned for more updates and announcements as the new season gears up for its exciting premiere.
