The Garment’s Charlotte Eskildsen Presents Equestrian-Inspired Collection at Stunning Location

Danish designer Charlotte Eskildsen showcased her latest collection at the breathtaking Christiansborg Ridebane, the royal stables at Christiansborg Palace, which date back to 1740. Despite not being a rider herself, Eskildsen’s horse obsession shone through in the choice of location and the equestrian-inspired pieces that graced the runway.

The color palette of the collection featured earthy tones like beige, terra cotta, gray, white, and pink, complementing the vaulted stone arches under which the models walked. Spring’s offering from Eskildsen tied together various ideas she has been exploring, bringing back elements like lush drapes from spring 2025 and back-tied tops from pre-fall 2025. The deconstructed suits that were a hit in her recent resort collection also made an appearance, adding a modern twist to classic tailoring.

The collection kicked off with smart yet casual tailoring, featuring jackets and pants paired with blouses adorned with pretty trailing scarves. A brown suede minidress and double-breasted blazers styled with leggings and riding boots paid homage to the show’s equestrian theme. Eskildsen’s use of cotton throughout the collection aimed to evoke the feeling and sound of just-washed sheets, evident in pieces like a crisp paper bag waisted skirt and wide-legged pajama-style pants.

While broderie anglaise pieces added a touch of sweetness to the collection, the hand-crocheted dresses, inspired by vintage French designs, exuded a more decorative vibe. To balance out the feminine details, Eskildsen incorporated flats with crochet straps and masculine shoes and riding boots, ensuring the models could move effortlessly down the runway.

Overall, Eskildsen’s equestrian-inspired collection at Christiansborg Ridebane was a harmonious blend of classic tailoring, romantic details, and a touch of whimsy. With a nod to the designer’s signature style and a hint of horse-inspired charm, the collection left a lasting impression on all who witnessed it.
