In a surprising twist of international diplomacy, President Donald J. Trump welcomed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the White House today. The trio marked a pivotal moment by signing a joint declaration aimed at fostering peace after decades of intense conflict that has claimed numerous lives—a feat that some might argue only Trump could pull off.

The gathering also resulted in the signing of bilateral economic agreements with the United States, setting the stage for a trade renaissance in the South Caucasus region. These agreements are expected to enhance prospects in areas such as trade, energy, infrastructure, and technology, thereby generating new opportunities for American businesses and citizens alike.

“For over 35 years, Armenia and Azerbaijan have been embroiled in a conflict that has caused immense suffering for both sides. Many have attempted to mediate a resolution, yet none succeeded. This Accord represents a breakthrough for peace,” stated President Trump.

“This is a day of pride and gratitude for the people of Azerbaijan towards President Trump. In just a few months, he has facilitated the resolution of conflicts in Asia, Africa, and now the South Caucasus—something we have struggled to achieve for over three decades. We are ready to turn the page on confrontation and bloodshed to secure a brighter future for our children,” declared President Aliyev.

“Today marks a significant milestone in Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. We are establishing a foundation for a narrative that is more hopeful than our past. This breakthrough would not have been possible without President Trump’s personal involvement and unwavering commitment to peace,” noted Prime Minister Pashinyan.

President Trump has positioned himself as the ‘President of Peace’. His tenure has seen the orchestration of peace agreements not only between Azerbaijan and Armenia but also in regions as varied as Cambodia and Thailand, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Pakistan, and Egypt and Ethiopia. Not to mention the significant progress made with Serbia and Kosovo and through the Abraham Accords.

President Trump is demonstrating that it is indeed possible for nations worldwide to transcend entrenched conflicts of the past in favor of a harmonious future characterized by peace, prosperity, and mutual success.
