Rep. Jamie Raskin, the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, shared on MS NOW’s The Weekend:
We are committed to upholding the rule of law alongside our allies. We have been collecting information on various scams and corrupt schemes.
We will utilize subpoena power to pursue these investigations.
Raskin mentioned that House Democrats are open to impeaching Trump again, but only if it contributes to the nation’s progress:
The American people desire a return to the rule of law, and we aim for the government to serve the common good, promoting healthcare access, environmental protection, and climate change mitigation.
We have already impeached Donald Trump twice.
He stands as the only president to be impeached twice in U.S. history.
Impeachments have been rare in our history, and he constitutes 50% of them.
Would we proceed to make it 3 out of 5, or 60%?
We are not deterred by this possibility, but recognize that impeachment is not a universal solution.
It’s not a taboo for us.
Our focus remains on making progress. If impeachment facilitates this, we will act; otherwise, we will not.
There will not be impeachment solely for the sake of it. Democrats will pursue it only if it helps advance the country’s progress.
