Jackie Chan recently wowed audiences at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland by reenacting his role in Bruce Lee’s iconic film, “Enter the Dragon.” Despite only playing a small part in the movie, Chan shared a funny anecdote about how Lee accidentally hit him with a stick during a scene, showing his dedication to completing the take.

During a masterclass at the festival, Chan opened up about his humble beginnings and how his father sent him to martial arts school because he was lazy and naughty. He joked about enjoying the freedom to kick and punch others, which eventually led him to pursue a career in stunts and acting.

Chan’s animated presence and storytelling captivated the audience as he shared personal insights about his absent father and his passion for filmmaking. He expressed his desire to learn every aspect of the industry, from acting to directing, in order to create the perfect movie for audiences.

Despite his success as an action star, Chan emphasized the importance of being a versatile actor who can also deliver emotional performances. He humbly accepted Locarno’s career achievement award, acknowledging his impact on the action genre and his continuous evolution as an actor.

Artistic director Giona A. Nazzaro praised Chan as a “true genius” who reinvented the action film genre. Chan’s acceptance speech reflected his determination to continue fighting even at the age of 71, proving that age is just a number in the world of cinema.

Chan’s legacy as an actor, director, and martial artist continues to inspire fans and filmmakers alike, cementing his status as a beloved icon in the entertainment industry. His presence at the Locarno Film Festival was a reminder of his enduring impact on cinema and his commitment to pushing boundaries in storytelling.
