As the African fashion industry continues to make its mark on the global stage, Lagos Fashion Week celebrates a significant milestone: 15 years of leadership in showcasing, developing, and strengthening the continent’s fashion ecosystem.
This year’s anniversary season, themed “In Full Bloom,” serves as a moment of reflection and recommitment to the work ahead. It pays homage to a legacy built on community, creativity, and cultural impact, with a steadfast dedication to fostering a future where African designers not only create but thrive.
Since its inception, Lagos Fashion Week has played a pivotal role in defining African fashion. Over the past 15 years, it has provided a platform for thousands of designers, forged international partnerships, and sparked crucial conversations on sustainability, the circular economy, and innovation within African fashion. The 2025 edition continues this legacy with a diverse lineup of runway shows, exhibitions, industry discussions, and immersive experiences.
The season will also shine a spotlight on longstanding initiatives like Green Access and Woven Threads, which champion sustainability, craftsmanship, and responsible production. Additionally, XRetail will bridge the gap between designers and consumers through innovative experiential commerce models.
Green Access 2025, Lagos Fashion Week’s flagship accelerator program, is now accepting applications from emerging designers focused on sustainability and innovation through African craftsmanship. This year’s cycle challenges designers to rethink textile waste as raw material and creative opportunities, emphasizing indigenous craft techniques, youth development, and circular systems. Partnering with NAHOUS for a one-week residency, the program will culminate in designers presenting capsule collections at Lagos Fashion Week.
The 15th anniversary of Lagos Fashion Week arrives at a pivotal moment for African fashion, as designers from the continent lead direct-to-consumer activations worldwide. African designers are shaping global narratives and receiving accolades such as the Zalando Visionary Award and H&M Foundation Global Change Award. Brands like Iamisigo, Orange Culture, and Emmy Kasbit have gained international acclaim, solidifying Lagos Fashion Week as a strategic platform for sustainable industry growth.
Join us this October in Lagos as we commemorate 15 years of creativity, community, and cultural leadership. “In Full Bloom” is not just a theme—it’s a moment to reflect on our progress and sow the seeds for the future of African fashion. Lagos Fashion Week 2025 is proudly sponsored by Heineken, with Lush Hair, Afreximbank, and the Bank of Industry as official partners.
