A shirt discovered near the suspected remains of Travis Decker has been confirmed to be worn by the Army veteran wanted for murdering his three young daughters. Officials also revealed other grim discoveries at the scene, shedding more light on this tragic case.

Washington state and federal law enforcement officials utilized AI-powered drones to detect an “anomaly” near Icicle River drainage, less than a mile from where the bodies of Decker’s daughters were found in June. The clothing found matched that of their prime suspect, Travis Decker.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison confirmed that the shirt found at the scene matched what Travis was last seen wearing. Additionally, they found additional body parts, including two feet, femurs, and vertebrates. Army Ranger shorts, a bracelet known to be worn by Decker, and his preferred brand of chewing tobacco were also discovered.

The State Patrol’s Crime Lab faced challenges in processing the decomposed clothing, but they were able to extract DNA samples. Although there is no DNA confirmation that the remains belong to Decker, officials are hopeful that they have found the suspect in the murder investigation.

The genetic test results are expected to come from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab. The difficult terrain in the area made the discovery challenging, with Chief Deputy US Marshal Gavin Duffy describing it as incredibly steep and rocky.

Travis Decker is believed to have murdered his three daughters on June 2, with Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia found with plastic bags tied over their heads near their father’s truck. The manhunt for Decker was the largest in the county’s history, as Sheriff Morrison referred to the crime as the “most heinous” in the county.

The grieving mother, Whitney Decker, expressed her desire for a change in the law regarding Amber Alerts in Washington state. She recounted that Travis seemed quieter than usual when he picked up the girls from her home on that tragic day.

The tragic events surrounding Travis Decker and his three daughters highlight the devastating impact of mental health issues and the importance of early intervention and support. The community continues to mourn the loss of these innocent lives and seek justice for the victims.
