Sha’Carri Richardson, despite facing personal challenges off the track, remains a hot commodity in the advertising world. The celebrated sprinter is now a prominent figure in Kim Kardashian‘s latest Skims campaign with Nike, just a few months after a domestic violence arrest.
This new collection, unveiled on Monday, features a star-studded ensemble of athletes, including Serena Williams, Chloe Kim, Nelly Korda, and Jordan Chiles, all modeling the latest in fitness wear alongside the Team USA sprinter.
Kim highlighted the rationale behind teaming up with Nike back in February, deeming it essential: every woman desires to feel empowered and stylish even during rigorous workouts.
“Our mission is straightforward: to transform women’s activewear,” Kim asserted. “We are no longer settling for compromises. We are merging high-performance innovation with bold, stylish designs for all women who seek both.”
It’s no surprise that Kim would tap athletes to showcase her co-founded brand. However, it raises eyebrows to see Richardson prominently featured, especially considering her recent altercation at a Seattle airport with Christian Coleman in July that led to her arrest.
Following the incident, Richardson issued an apology for her behavior, yet Nike has maintained visibility for her representation in its marketing materials since.

It remains uncertain whether Richardson’s involvement in the campaign was established prior to her arrest, or if both the brands decided to support her despite the circumstances.
