Spoiler Alert: Love Is Blind Season 7 Couple Update

Season 7 of “Love Is Blind” on Netflix has introduced viewers to a new concept. While the show typically follows a select number of couples who get engaged in the pods, this season showcased the journey of Brittany Wisniewski and Leo Braudy from their pod conversations to their engagement and meeting. However, a surprising twist revealed that they were not chosen to continue their journey on the show.

After the engagement, a title card disclosed that Brittany and Leo were not among the six couples selected by producers to proceed to Mexico. They later took a trip to Mexico on their own and ultimately called off their engagement weeks later.

Creator and executive producer Chris Coelen shed light on the decision not to follow Brittany and Leo’s story further. He explained that the show’s production budget only allows for a certain number of couples to be followed, and in this case, seven couples got engaged, requiring one to be cut from the lineup. The decision was based on which couples seemed most authentically invested in the relationship and likely to make it to the altar.

Although Brittany and Leo’s journey was not continued on the show, their stories were intertwined with other cast members, particularly Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka. Leo’s indecision between Hannah and Brittany, and Hannah’s eventual choice of Nick, played a significant role in their narrative.

While Brittany was the only one who did not reciprocate her fiancé’s “I love you,” the dynamics between the cast members made their story compelling to include in the narrative. Coelen expressed that while it would have been interesting to follow Brittany and Leo further, the decision not to do so aligned with the show’s track record of couples who are not followed ultimately not ending up together.

Despite not being chosen to continue on the show, Brittany and Leo decided to take their own trip to Miami instead of the post-show trip to Mexico. Coelen hinted at the possibility of seeing them at the reunion and potentially exploring their story further in the future.

“Love Is Blind” Season 7 episodes 1-6 are currently available for streaming on Netflix, with episodes 7-9 set to release on Oct. 9.
