BBC Studios has officially announced the highly-anticipated Italian premiere of “Bluey at the Cinema: Let’s Play Chef Collection” during the Rome Film Festival’s dedicated independent sidebar, Alice nella Città, set for October 18.
This unique presentation, entitled “Bluey at the Cinema: Let’s Play Chef Collection,” brings together an exciting mix of eight episodes from the globally-loved Australian animated series, “Bluey.” Among the featured episodes are fan favorites such as Takeaway, Fancy Restaurant, Omelette, and Duck Cake.
Following its premiere, the one-hour compilation is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical rollout across Italy starting from October 30, with subsequent releases planned for Germany, France, and the Benelux countries. The series had previously made its debut in cinemas in the U.K., Ireland, Spain, and Poland.
Created by Joe Brumm, “Bluey” is brought to life by Ludo Studio for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, with co-commissioning from ABC Children’s and the international distribution by BBC Studios Kids & Family. The collection is made possible through a collaboration between Piece of Magic Entertainment and Vue Lumière.
“Families across Italy will soon have the opportunity to enjoy this special compilation on the big screen, starting with an exciting premiere at the Alice nella città festival in Rome,” said Cecilia Persson, managing director of BBC Studios Kids & Family. She added that showcasing “Bluey” on the big screen aims to celebrate the joy, laughter, and love that the series brings to both children and their parents.
As the “Bluey” compilation prepares for its international rollout, excitement continues to build for the upcoming feature film. Earlier this month, BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios announced that a CG-animated feature film is set to hit theaters globally on August 6, 2027.
