Clemson Professor Calls For More Assassinations

Clemson University finds itself in the eye of a storm, standing by three professors who, in a shocking display of insensitivity, celebrated the assassination of civil rights activist Charlie Kirk. This includes one academic who went so far as to advocate for the murder of all conservatives. A peculiar form of academic discourse indeed.

One faculty member, amid all this chaos, suggested, “In a world full of Charlie Kirks and Brian Thompsons, be a Tyler Robinson or a Luigi Mangione.” It’s hard to discern whether this is a call for civility or yet another sarcastic jab in an increasingly acrimonious context.

In a rare and unexpected twist of events, President Trump weighed in on the matter, taking to Truth Social to accuse the university of inciting violence against conservatives. He has called for the South Carolina legislature to hold a special session to address this controversial situation.

In the midst of this educational debacle, the university confirmed that it had suspended one individual amid ongoing investigations into inappropriate social media activity. A telling move for an institution grappling with its commitment to free speech and the standards by which it is measured.

🚨BREAKING: A third member of @ClemsonUniv has been revealed as endorsing the political assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The university has REFUSED to terminate their positions, citing free speech concerns.

In a statement, the university articulately stated, “Effective immediately, an employee has been suspended pending further investigation into their social media posts. This action reflects our seriousness about maintaining the values we uphold.” Of course, whether suspension without firings conveys that seriousness is an open question.

This incident has provoked responses from political figures such as Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who believes the university has failed to take sufficient action. She expressed her views on X, insisting, “Clemson must hold ALL accountable. Suspension is inadequate.” Just one of the many voices echoing a sentiment that is quickly gaining momentum.

AND IT KEEPS GETTING WORSE: a THIRD faculty member from @ClemsonUniv has been identified, making shockingly hateful remarks on social media following Kirk’s assassination. This individuals’ history is quite alarming!

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has also voiced concerns, joining his fellow constituents who are becoming increasingly alarmed. He stated, “Your First Amendment rights do not include a right to a job. The celebration of murder is unacceptable and demands immediate action from the university.”

The Board of Trustees is anticipated to convene an emergency meeting on Monday, likely to discuss the fallout from these incidents.

Rep. Ralph Norman added to the growing dissatisfaction. He remarked, “This reaction stems from a tone set by Clemson’s initial hesitance to act decisively against employees who glorified political violence. For the safety of the students, action must be taken or we risk losing federal support.”
