Dr. Oz is working to temper President Trump‘s recent assertions regarding Tylenol use in pregnant women and potential Autism links, by clarifying when acetaminophen is advisable and when it should be avoided.

Oz, currently serving as Trump’s Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, appeared on “TMZ Live” on Tuesday to shed light on Trump’s comments from a recent White House briefing.

Trump took a firm stance against Tylenol, instructing expectant mothers to refrain from its use entirely. However, Dr. Oz pointed out a specific scenario where Tylenol could be crucial.

Dr. Oz indicated that pregnant women suffering from high-grade fevers need not stress about using Tylenol, as it can effectively reduce fever, which left untreated, may lead to birth defects. Nonetheless, he emphasized the importance of consulting a physician in such situations.
