Two prominent figures at CBS will continue to lead the network, as Amy Reisenbach and David Stapf have both secured new three-year contracts with the organization.

With their new agreements, Reisenbach will continue her role as president of CBS Entertainment, while Stapf will maintain his position as head of CBS Studios. Reisenbach has served as president of CBS Entertainment since November 2022 and joined CBS in 2005, whereas Stapf has led CBS Studios for 21 of his 26 years with the company.

Both executives report to George Cheeks, chair of TV Media for Paramount, who supervises all divisions within CBS along with the cable networks. According to a source familiar with the matter, both Reisenbach and Stapf renewed their contracts before the completion of the Skydance-Paramount merger.

The renewal of their contracts signals a degree of stability at CBS, particularly amidst a backdrop of significant layoffs affecting various divisions within Paramount. The new leadership at Skydance is anticipated to announce an additional 2,000-3,000 layoffs by early November.

According to previous reports from Variety, insiders at Paramount expressed optimism that Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison would adopt a “don’t fix what isn’t broken” mentality regarding CBS, considering the network’s ongoing achievements under the leadership of Reisenbach and Stapf.

CBS continues to produce some of the most-watched scripted series on television, including hits like “Tracker,” “Fire Country,” “NCIS,” “Matlock,” “FBI,” “Ghosts,” and “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” alongside reality television staples “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race.” Meanwhile, Stapf enjoys a strong reputation within the creative community, with CBS Studios being responsible for the majority of CBS’s broadcast lineup. CBS Studios is also the home of the “Star Trek” franchise series produced since 2017 for Paramount+, a reboot of “Little House on the Prairie” in development for Netflix, and the comedy “Murderbot,” which premiered in May on Apple TV+ and has been renewed for a second season.
