Kamala Harris has aligned herself with other far-left Democrats by expressing her opposition to regime change in Iran.
The former vice president criticized Operation Epic Fury and President Donald Trump shortly after the attack began on Saturday.
Harris referred to the attack as “a war the American people do not want.”
Despite the elimination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and 40 top Iranian security and regime figures in the attack, Harris maintained her stance against regime change.
“Let me be clear: I am against a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for Trump’s war of choice,” Harris stated.
She emphasized the dangers and recklessness of the situation, highlighting the need for stability in the region.
While acknowledging the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Harris maintained that the current approach was not the solution.

Harris criticized President Trump for his statements regarding the conflict and emphasized the need for congressional authorization for any war-related decisions.
She concluded her statement by denouncing the actions taken on Saturday as unwise, unjustified, and not in line with the American people’s wishes.
Following her remarks, Harris received criticism on social media questioning her leadership abilities.
Meanwhile, Governor Gavin Newsom criticized the airstrikes as “illegal,” drawing mixed reactions from the public.
The military action came after stalled talks with Iran over its nuclear program, leading to heightened tensions in the region.
