ABC is set to premiere a new quiz show titled “Claire Hooper’s House of Games,” hosted by Australian comedian Claire Hooper. The show, adapted from the UK’s “Richard Osman’s House of Games,” will debut on Monday, April 21, on ABC TV and ABC iview.
The format of the show involves four celebrity contestants competing in a variety of puzzles, riddles, and brain teasers. Claire Hooper’s comedic timing and sharp wit promise plenty of laughs as she guides the contestants through the mental challenges.
Hooper expressed her excitement about hosting the show, stating, “Well, I’m officially doing my dream job. ‘House of Games,’ the UK cult favorite quiz show, is now here at the ABC. Each weeknight, before the news, I, Claire Hooper, will be testing celebrities with a series of ridiculous brain games and laughing when they struggle – in a fun way! Play along at home and work out if you’re smarter than the weekly lineups of my great mates.”
The celebrity lineup includes Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm, TV personality Jamie Durie, celebrity chef Julie Goodwin, and comedians Rhys Nicholson, Nazeem Hussain, and Geraldine Hickey. Each night, a winner will be crowned, earning quirky “House of Games” merchandise such as a must-have salad spinner or a fun fondue set. At the end of the week, scores will be tallied, and the top player will claim the coveted “House of Games” trophy.
Commissioned by the ABC, “Claire Hooper’s House of Games” is produced by Endemol Shine Australia. The format, originally created by Remarkable Entertainment, is represented by Banijay Entertainment globally.
