In a recent social media address, Dan Bongino, the Deputy Director of the FBI, appears to be embarking on a delicate mission to mend the frayed ties between the bureau’s leadership and the conservative base. His carefully crafted remarks come at a moment when frustrations among conservatives over perceived lack of accountability are reaching a boiling point.

Prominent figures like Rudy Giuliani, General Mike Flynn, and Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch have made their voices heard, criticizing the DOJ and FBI for what they deem as inadequate transparency and a failure to rectify past missteps.

Bongino, who was brought in to help rejuvenate a beleaguered FBI, shared insights into his fifth week on the job:

Week 5 Updates:

– I appreciate your support in following this account. This week, I’m visiting various FBI field offices to collect insights on essential reforms and to listen to our workforce. The Director and I are committed to prioritizing reforms while ensuring that our ongoing mission to protect the Homeland remains steadfast.

– While I reiterated this last week, it bears repeating: the Director and I are tackling several significant initiatives to ensure that the errors of the past are not repeated, and that many of your outstanding questions receive answers. We recognize that some actions may not immediately fit into the larger context, leaving a void that others may fill with speculation. However, accountability requires both information and individuals equipped with that information. Let me clarify—I’m not asking for your blind trust; I’m here to deliver results.

– Actions that may not be visible at first glance do not signify inaction. I must admit, it’s challenging to refrain from responding to both criticism and praise. But as a public servant, I must allow the outcomes to speak for themselves, as that’s what you, the taxpayers, expect. I understand the disappointment from previous experiences; you deserve better, and we are committed to delivering that.

God bless America, and all those who defend Her.
– Dan
