Netflix’s “Adolescence” Surpasses “Stranger Things” as Second-Most-Watched English-Language Series
Since its debut on March 13, the U.K. limited series “Adolescence” has taken Netflix by storm, becoming the platform’s second-most-watched English-language series. With a total of 141.2 million views in just 80 days, it has dethroned the previous record holder, Season 4 of “Stranger Things.”
Netflix measures the popularity of its titles within the first 91 days of release, and during that timeframe, “Adolescence” has outperformed the viewership of “Stranger Things” Season 4, which garnered 140.7 million views in the same period in 2022.
Among English-language series, only “Wednesday” surpasses “Adolescence” and “Stranger Things” Season 4, with a staggering 252.1 million views within its first 91 days of streaming in 2022. When considering non-English language titles, “Squid Game” Season 1 leads the pack with 265.2 million views, while Season 2 falls between “Wednesday” and “Adolescence” with 192.6 million views.
With the success of “Adolescence” continuing to grow, Netflix viewers can expect more exciting content from the series in the future. Stay tuned for further updates and developments as the show cements its place as a fan-favorite on the streaming platform.
