Galatasaray are eyeing a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic in the upcoming summer transfer window. Reports suggest that the Turkish club has submitted a loan offer with an option to buy the player from the Blues.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray is on the verge of securing the services of Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich. The winger was previously linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, but it seems like Galatasaray has emerged as the frontrunners to sign him. The club is now looking to bolster their goalkeeping department, with Petrovic being their latest target.

Journalist Sami Yen Haber has revealed that Galatasaray has tabled an initial offer for Petrovic, consisting of a €5 million loan fee along with a €15 million purchase option. Negotiations between the two clubs are reportedly ongoing.

Petrovic, who joined Chelsea from the New England Revolution in 2023, has made a significant impact during his time at Stamford Bridge. With 31 appearances and seven clean sheets to his name, the goalkeeper has proven his worth. Following a loan spell at Strasbourg for the 2024-25 season, where he registered 10 clean sheets in 31 games across various competitions, Petrovic seems poised to depart Chelsea this summer.

It is reported by The Telegraph that Petrovic has expressed his desire to leave Chelsea, as he aims to secure regular playing time as the first-choice goalkeeper at a new club. The Serbian shot-stopper even opted out of the Blues’ squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, indicating his eagerness to move on from the Premier League outfit.

In another transfer development involving Chelsea, former winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has criticized the decision to allow Kepa Arrizabalaga to join Arsenal for a reported fee of £5 million. Kepa, who spent the previous season on loan at Bournemouth and delivered impressive performances with nine clean sheets in 35 games, was viewed as a potential first-choice goalkeeper for Chelsea.

The Spanish goalkeeper, who remains the most expensive shot-stopper in the world following his £72 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2018, has amassed 163 appearances for Chelsea. Wright-Phillips believes that Kepa’s contributions at Bournemouth showcased his abilities and questioned Chelsea’s decision to part ways with him.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Galatasaray’s pursuit of Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s potential move to Arsenal add intrigue to the evolving transfer market landscape. With negotiations ongoing and key decisions to be made, the upcoming months promise to be eventful for both clubs and the players involved.
