After Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial last-minute penalty secured a 2-1 victory for Al-Nassr over Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League, the footballing world was abuzz with reactions from players like Ruben Neves, Riyad Mahrez, and Merih Demiral. The match saw Al-Fayha taking the lead with a brilliant goal from Jason in the 13th minute, only for Ronaldo to equalize for Al-Nassr with a close-range finish in the 37th minute.

As the game headed into stoppage time, Al-Nassr was awarded a penalty after Mikel Villanueva was deemed to have fouled Abdulelah Al Amri. Ronaldo stepped up and converted the penalty to secure all three points for his team. However, this decision left Neves, Mahrez, and Demiral amused, as they took to social media to share their reactions with laughing emojis.

Despite the controversial ending, Al-Nassr maintained their flawless record in the league, sitting comfortably at the top with 21 points from seven games. Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli also had strong showings, sitting in third and fifth place respectively.

In a post-match interview, Ronaldo expressed his determination to win the Saudi Pro League title this season. The Portuguese superstar, who was named the Player of the Match for his brace against Al-Fayha, emphasized the importance of team success over individual accolades.

Ronaldo stated, “Well, it’s always good to score goals, I’m very happy to help the team to win but for me the most important thing is we won, we are a team so it doesn’t matter about individual awards, what I want is to win the league.” He also acknowledged the long season ahead and the need to continue performing well to maintain their position at the top of the table.

With nine goals and two assists in 10 appearances across all competitions, Ronaldo has been instrumental for Al-Nassr this season. The team will now turn their focus to the AFC Champions League clash against FC Goa on November 5, looking to extend their impressive run.

In conclusion, Ronaldo’s performance and determination to lead Al-Nassr to league glory have been commendable, despite the controversies surrounding the match. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on the Knights of Najd as they aim to maintain their position at the summit of the Saudi Pro League.
