The Turkish television giant Ay Yapim is set to launch its inaugural AI-generated series titled “Castle Walls,” which delves into the intriguing narrative of Alamut Castle in modern-day Iran. This fortress has gained recognition as a notable setting in Ubisoft’s widely acclaimed video game “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.”
“Castle Walls” (known as “Surlar” in Turkish) consists of three episodes, each lasting 15 minutes, scripted by seasoned Turkish television writers Kerem Deren and Çisil Hazal Tenim, who previously worked on “El Turco.” This short series is set to premiere at the forthcoming Mipcom TV market in Cannes, produced by Ay Yapim’s new subsidiary based in Singapore, AI Yapim.
Positioned among the world’s pioneering AI-generated television series, “Castle Walls” will debut later this year on Turkish free-to-air television, as well as a currently unnamed “global streamer,” according to an official statement.
Developed over a year’s time, this innovative series utilized a variety of AI technologies throughout its production process. It incorporated tools like ChatGPT “for prompt enhancement and creative refinement.” Additionally, MidJourney was employed “for visual exploration and inspiration,” while Runway and Google Nano Banana were used for “character integration.” Other tools such as Veo, Kling, ComfyUI, and Topaz played roles in “video generation and cinematic execution.” Furthermore, the combination of Runway and the AI voice generator ElevenLabs was utilized for voice and dubbing, effectively merging creativity with production, according to the statement.
In addition to these prominent AI platforms, AI Yapim introduced its proprietary AI storyboarding tool and trained a unique video diffusion model, AYDNA 1.0, which was optimized using Ay Yapim’s licensed catalog, as per the statement.
Ay Yapim is renowned for hit series such as the International Emmy-winning “Endless Love,” “Fatmagul,” “Ezel,” and “Forbidden Love,” amongst others.
