The case of a cab driver accused of sexually assaulting two riders in 2024 and still being on the road has sparked outrage among New Yorkers. Many are pointing fingers at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his alleged incompetence in handling the situation.

One concerned citizen, John C. Migliaccio from LaGrangeville, expressed his disappointment in Bragg’s actions, comparing it to the failure of voters in the past. He questioned the decision-making process that led to the cabbie being let go, despite the serious allegations against him.

Another individual, Robert Caprio from Nutley, NJ, criticized Bragg for being “soft on crime” and allowing a potential predator to roam freely. He raised concerns about the safety of the public and the possibility of the cabbie committing more serious crimes in the future.

Veronica Kwiecinski from Maspeth sympathized with the victim, Maile Bartow, who had to relocate to Nashville following the alleged assault. She criticized New Yorkers for re-electing Bragg, stating that his lenient approach to crime would continue until he faced consequences or had a personal experience with a heinous crime.

Dennis Middlebrooks from Brooklyn highlighted the safety statistics of New York City compared to Nashville, suggesting that Bartow may reconsider her decision to leave. He emphasized the need for Bragg to be held accountable for his failure to protect the city’s residents and visitors.

On a different note, the case of would-be assassin Thomas Crook raised questions about the FBI’s oversight of potential threats. Robert Spitalnick from Great Neck expressed skepticism about the lack of surveillance on Crook, especially considering his online activity. He demanded answers from the authorities regarding the security lapses that allowed the assassination attempt on President Trump.

Rob Johann from Woodhaven echoed Spitalnick’s sentiments, criticizing the FBI for not investigating Crook more thoroughly before the incident. He believed that closer monitoring could have prevented the shooting from occurring.

Robert Fishman from Somers commented on the aftermath of the attempted assassination, suggesting a cover-up by the justice system. He pointed out the oversight of Crook’s online presence and the mishandling of his body as evidence of incompetence.

Overall, the public outcry over these incidents highlights the importance of accountability and transparency in law enforcement and judicial proceedings. The need for thorough investigations and stringent measures to protect the community from harm is evident, and citizens are calling for action to prevent such incidents from happening again.
