Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Amanda Howard recently reflected on her time with the squad and her journey on the reality show America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Howard shared her experience of auditioning for the team in 2021 and making it to Training Camp. After being cut initially, she returned in 2022 with renewed confidence and eventually made the team, cherishing the support she received from her loved ones throughout the process.

Her first year on the squad presented challenges as she was given the role of rotating rookie, constantly switching positions within the team. Despite the difficulties, Howard was named Rookie of the Year, a testament to her dedication and hard work. In her second year, she found stability and joy, embracing her spot on the team and forming strong bonds with her fellow cheerleaders.

Season 2 of the Netflix docuseries America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders depicted Howard and other cheerleaders advocating for higher pay from the organization. Despite her notable contributions to the team, Howard felt overlooked for certain opportunities during the 2024-2025 NFL season. She candidly spoke to director Kelli Finglass about her concerns, ultimately deciding to leave the squad at the end of the season.

In an interview with Us Weekly, veteran cheerleader Jada Mclean discussed the squad’s push for increased pay, emphasizing the importance of addressing financial concerns among the cheerleaders. Thanks to their efforts, the cheerleaders secured a significant pay raise, alleviating some of the financial burdens they had faced.

As both Amanda Howard and Jada Mclean bid farewell to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, their legacy of advocating for fair compensation and supporting their teammates will continue to resonate within the organization.
