Amazon One Medical, a provider of physician-staffed clinics and virtual care, has announced a new partnership with the prestigious Cleveland Clinic and its specialized network of medical providers. This collaboration will bring together the expertise of both organizations to offer high-quality, coordinated care in the Cleveland area.
The first Amazon One Medical primary care office affiliated with Cleveland Clinic is set to open next year. This office will provide same and next-day appointment availability, onsite lab services, and wrap-around virtual care support for members. The goal is to offer seamless coordinated care through Amazon One Medical’s offices and Cleveland Clinic’s network of specialists, hospitals, and health facilities.
Amazon One Medical currently operates nearly 240 primary care offices in over 20 U.S. markets and is expanding in existing markets while adding new locations like northeast Ohio. Plans include expanding to New Jersey later this year and Milwaukee next year. This expansion comes following Amazon’s $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical, signaling the company’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the markets where it operates.
Cleveland Clinic’s President and CEO, Dr. Tom Mihaljevic, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that it demonstrates a shared commitment to meeting the needs of patients and enhancing care in the community. Amazon One Medical’s CEO, Trent Green, emphasized the importance of delivering a high-quality patient experience and seamless continuation of care across all settings.
The healthcare landscape is evolving, with companies like CVS Health and Walgreens making investments in retail healthcare. Amazon One Medical’s unique model, which focuses on a human-centered and technology-powered approach, aims to address the needs of patients in metropolitan areas where access to primary care may be limited.
As Amazon One Medical continues to expand its footprint and enhance its services, the partnership with Cleveland Clinic is a significant step towards improving the healthcare experience for individuals and employers in the greater Cleveland area. By combining their strengths, these two organizations are poised to deliver the highest levels of health, care, and value to their patients.
