An American Airlines flight faced chaos after a passenger, Ketty J. Dilone, was restrained with duct tape following her aggressive behavior toward cabin crew. She was reportedly involved in a heated altercation and bizarrely confessed to having attempted to poison her own father during her childhood.
The incident took place on September 16 during a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Las Vegas, as outlined by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.
Dilone was on a connecting flight back from the Dominican Republic when her erratic behavior escalated, prompting flight attendants to intervene using zip ties and duct tape for safety.
Once restrained, Dilone reportedly kicked a flight attendant, leading to the attendant falling down.
A TikTok video capturing the incident went viral, showing her shouting that the restraints were causing her pain.
“You don’t know what I’ve been through, bitch!” Dilone yelled at a crew member. “Kill yourself, bitch! You want to die, bitch?”
In an unsettling admission, Dilone recalled an incident from her youth where she claimed to have placed “roach poison” in her father’s coffee, asserting her intention was to harm him.
“It didn’t work,” she remarked calmly. “In DR, we call it ‘Tres Pasito.’”
CAUTION: Explicit Language
Tres Pasitos, translating to “three little steps,” refers to a strong pesticide used for exterminating roaches and mice, and is illegal in the United States according to the US Environmental Protection Agency.
<pFor a brief moment, Dilone appeared to calm down, even singing the chorus of a Spanish song with the same title.
However, her agitation returned shortly after.
<p“So if anyone wants to kill somebody, use roach poison! But be sure it’s not expired and to use a lot!” she shouted, alleging that her attempt only made her father “fall asleep.”
After a brief quiet spell in the cabin, with passengers trying to distance themselves from her outburst, Dilone suddenly exclaimed that “the show’s f—king over,” followed by incoherent ramblings before the video concluded.
The FBI arrested Dilone upon landing at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, after which she was transported to the Henderson Detention Center.
She faces charges for one count of interference with a flight crew and one count of assault by striking, beating, or wounding.
Dilone had her initial court appearance on September 18 in Las Vegas.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 1.
If convicted, Dilone could face a maximum of 20 years in prison.
