Angelina Jolie Fumes Over Hollywood Spotlight and Oscar Snub
After her praised performance in the biopic Maria, where she portrayed opera icon Maria Callas, Angelina Jolie, 49, is convinced that she was snubbed for an Oscar nomination. Insiders reveal that Jolie believes Hollywood has blackballed her due to her past relationship with her ex-husband from Fight Club, Brad Pitt.
According to sources, there was a lot of buzz surrounding Jolie’s performance since the first showing at the Venice Film Festival. Many believed she was a top contender for the prestigious award. However, to her disappointment, she did not receive a nomination, leading her to believe that Pitt’s influence in the industry played a role in her exclusion.
Despite Pitt denying any trash-talking about Jolie, she firmly believes that he has spread negative rumors about her, portraying himself as the victim. The insider mentioned, “She has no doubt that Brad bad-mouthed her all over town and twisted things to make himself the victim. As far as she’s concerned, getting frozen out of the Oscars is proof that his calculated attack has worked. She’s burning with rage.”
In addition to her Oscar snub, Jolie is also reportedly unhappy that Pamela Anderson, known for her role in Baywatch, has gained recognition for her performance in The Last Showgirl. Despite having no personal animosity towards Anderson, Jolie finds it perplexing that someone more renowned for their physical appearance than acting ability has become a breakout star of the season.
“Angelina has nothing personally against Pamela, but she finds it pretty bizarre that someone known more for their bra size than acting chops is the darling of the season,” the insider continued.
