Liza Minnelli is facing criticism online, with some accusing her of hypocrisy. One individual commented, “She’s complaining about being in a wheelchair, but now she looks like she might need one permanently.” Another person remarked, “It makes Gaga look even better in hindsight – she handled that moment with kindness.”
Minnelli has been candid about her health challenges, including her history of addiction and ongoing mobility issues. At a recent book talk event, she remained seated in a director’s chair throughout and did not walk on or off the stage.
While there were moments of applause, including a brief musical duet, Minnelli seemed to struggle physically, at one point slumping forward before regaining her composure as the finale played.
Following the event, she announced she would miss a New York engagement scheduled for 23 March. On Instagram, she wrote, “Hey Kids, Doctor Piro’s orders, I’m sitting Monday out… I’m so sorry.”
A source close to the production explained, “The decision was made out of caution. Her doctors felt she needed rest after what happened on stage.”
