In the race for Minnesota’s Democratic primary in August, Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.) currently leads over Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan in terms of fundraising.

According to Federal Elections Commission reports, Craig collected $2.5 million during the first quarter of the year, surpassing Flanagan’s $1.3 million. This financial advantage leaves Craig with $4.8 million in available funds, significantly more than Flanagan’s $1.1 million.

Flanagan’s financial report also indicates a high expenditure rate, with her campaign spending over $1 million in the first quarter, nearly matching her fundraising total.

As the Democratic primary heats up, campaign contributions are emerging as a critical issue. Flanagan has criticized Craig for receiving donations from corporate PACs and has vowed to refuse such contributions.
