The Saltzman-Leibovitz Prize Honors Hallosserie with Top Award
The prestigious Saltzman-Leibovitz Prize has awarded a total of $20,000, with Hallosserie being the recipient of the top prize of $10,000. This year’s shortlisted photographers include talented individuals from around the world who have all participated in Annie Leibovitz’s mentorship program as part of her role as IKEA’s first Artist in Residence. The shortlist includes Elena Kalinichenko from Ukraine, Ka’Vozia Glynn from the USA, Praise Hassan from Nigeria, Toma Hurduc from Romania, and Trâm Nguyá»…n Quang from the Netherlands.
Hallosserie, the deserving winner of the top prize, will now continue developing their project titled The Game. This project aims to expand by incorporating portraits, interviews, archival materials, and objects belonging to migrants. Additionally, the project will feature testimonies from local leaders, lawyers, and rescue workers, providing a comprehensive and impactful narrative.
Excitingly, the shortlisted projects will be showcased at Photo London, a prestigious photography event scheduled to take place from 15th to 18th May 2025. This exhibition will offer a platform for these talented photographers to share their unique perspectives and stories with a wider audience.
