An anti-Israel protest turned violent in Brooklyn’s Borough Park neighborhood as demonstrators flooded the area, chanting anti-Zionist slogans and waving Palestinian flags. The protest, organized by anti-Israel group Pal-Awda, aimed to denounce the sale of Palestinian land to Israel. Amidst the chaos, the protest organizer called for revolution through a megaphone, while others shouted for settlers to go back home.

Pro-Israel demonstrators and local residents carrying Israeli flags also gathered in the area, leading to a confrontation between the two groups. The clashes escalated into a brawl, with police intervening to separate the sparring crowds. Videos shared on social media captured the intense moments of the confrontation.

Local leaders and Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres condemned the protest, criticizing the targeting of Borough Park simply because it is a predominantly Jewish neighborhood. Torres highlighted the violence as a feature of the so-called “Free Palestine” movement, accusing them of having no desire to free Palestinians from Hamas.

Activist group End Jew Hatred called out city leaders for failing to stand up against the anti-Israel protesters, labeling them as violent thugs looking for any reason to attack Jews. Charges are pending against one protester who was arrested during the demonstration.

The protest occurred in the aftermath of a ghoulish announcement by Hamas confirming the deaths of Kfir and Ariel Bibas, aged 2 and 5, and their mother, Shiri Bibas, in a terrorist attack. The Bibas family quickly became symbols of the horrors of the attack, adding emotional weight to the ongoing tensions in the region.

The protest in Borough Park is just one of many demonstrations organized by anti-Israel activists in New York City following the conflict between Hamas and Israel. The incident reflects the deep-rooted divisions and tensions surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict, with both sides expressing strong emotions and beliefs.
