Ariana Grande’s Hilarious Christmas Monologue on “Saturday Night Live”

Ariana Grande brought her signature charm and humor to the Christmas episode of “Saturday Night Live” Season 51 as both host and musical guest. In her monologue, Grande entertained the audience with a comedic twist on Mariah Carey’s classic holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Titled “What Do I Get for Christmas for This Dude?” the song humorously highlighted the challenges of buying gifts for acquaintances and friends of friends.

With the festive spirit in the air, Grande joked about the stress of shopping for certain people in her life, like her cousin’s boyfriend Steve. She sang, “I don’t know what to get for Christmas for my cousin’s boyfriend Steve, I don’t know a thing about him, only see him on Christmas Eve,” to the tune of Carey’s famous melody.

Grande also took a playful jab at her busy schedule, mentioning her press tour for “Wicked: For Good” and joking that her director, Jon M. Chu, wouldn’t even allow her bathroom breaks. The audience couldn’t help but laugh along with her witty lyrics and infectious energy.

Adding to the comedic flair of the night, cast member Bowen Yang made a special appearance on stage with Grande. The two shared a funny exchange about Yang’s minimal lines in “Wicked,” with Grande teasing him about his limited role in the production.

“Saturday Night Live” viewers were treated to Grande’s third hosting gig on the show, showcasing her versatility as both a performer and a comedic talent. Her unique take on holiday humor and musical prowess made for a memorable Christmas episode that had fans laughing and singing along.
