The search for missing Nancy Guthrie in Arizona has taken a new turn as the Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, dismisses claims that her disappearance was a result of a burglary gone wrong.

Nanos stated to the Daily Mail, “This is somebody who disappeared from the face of the earth, and now we have a camera that says here’s the person who did this.”

Despite receiving over 40,000 tips, investigators have not been able to locate Nancy, who has been missing for over two weeks. The authorities have not made any arrests and have faced criticism for their handling of the case.

Nanos has maintained the belief that Nancy was kidnapped, contrary to a theory suggesting a botched robbery. He mentioned, “That’s what makes me say this is a kidnapping. The motivation for it is where we get stuck, right?”

With the discovery of a glove containing DNA near Nancy’s home, investigators are hopeful for a breakthrough. An FBI spokesperson told Fox News that the DNA profile recovered matches the gloves of the individual seen in surveillance footage.

The video footage released shows a masked individual tampering with cameras outside Nancy’s home, carrying a handgun in an unconventional manner. Nanos emphasized not underestimating the suspect, stating, “He may be a lot smarter than people are giving him credit for.”

Nancy’s daughter, Savannah, has made emotional appeals on social media, urging the kidnappers to do the right thing. The FBI reward for information leading to an arrest has been doubled to $100,000.
