An Arkansas Mom Allegedly Stages Kidnapping of Mentally Disabled Daughter to Stop Online Relationship with Fake Luke Bryan
An Arkansas mother, Tamara “Tammi” Hamby, reportedly orchestrated a fake kidnapping of her mentally disabled daughter as a scare tactic to prevent her from communicating with a stranger posing as country singer Luke Bryan online. This shocking revelation has led to Hamby turning herself in after she allegedly enlisted the help of three individuals to carry out the staged abduction, as reported by 5news.
According to reports, the incident unfolded on November 17 when authorities responded to a potential kidnapping involving Hamby’s daughter, who has both intellectual and physical disabilities. The elaborate scheme was purportedly designed by Hamby to teach her daughter a lesson about the dangers of talking to strangers online, including someone claiming to be Luke Bryan.
Hamby reportedly planned for an individual posing as an associate of Luke Bryan to contact her daughter, arrange a meeting, and then stage the abduction. Her in-home nursing assistant, Shannon Yazmin Yvonne Childers, was made aware of the plan. Childers, in turn, recruited two others, David Q. Quach and Nico Austria, to assist with the elaborate scheme. The staged kidnapping involved taking Hamby’s daughter to a field, demanding ransom, and tying her to a tree.
Unfortunately, the plan went awry when Austria took a wrong turn, leading to a harrowing ordeal for Hamby’s daughter. Despite the distressing situation, the daughter managed to escape, contact authorities, and break free from her restraints.
Following the incident, Hamby resigned from her position on the library board and her husband, Jeffrey Hamby, defended her actions as an attempt to intervene due to concerns about their daughter’s online interactions. However, the plot was deemed ill-conceived and poorly executed, resulting in charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, abuse, battery, and terroristic threatening against Hamby.
Hamby, along with Quach, Austria, and Childers, were arrested in connection with the staged kidnapping, although jail records indicate that they are not currently in custody. The case continues to unfold as investigations proceed.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as Hamby’s court appearance approaches.
