GPUs, with their parallel processing capabilities, are essential for running complex AI models like LLMs. The training process involves refining the model’s assumptions through iterations with large datasets, while inference is the process of using the model to make predictions based on input data.

Data centers play a crucial role in powering AI due to the scale and memory requirements of modern models. Hyperscale data centers operated by tech giants can consume immense amounts of electricity, with AI training and deployment being major drivers of energy demand. As AI continues to evolve, the need for specialized facilities to support its operations will only increase.
