LaNeé Griffin has been appointed as the senior VP of development and programming at Asylum Entertainment Group, where she will take on the role of co-running development and production for the company’s collaboration with Tyler Perry Studios.
In her new position, Griffin will collaborate closely with Antoinetta Stallings, the unscripted VP at Tyler Perry Studios. The joint venture between Tyler Perry Studios and Asylum Entertainment Group was announced in May with the goal of creating and producing unscripted content.
Griffin brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously founded and led Parker Paige Media. During her time there, she successfully developed projects, including securing a first-look deal with Snapchat. Her impressive resume also includes working at VH1 and NBC Universal, where she made significant contributions at Universal Alternative Studio and NBC Entertainment. Some of the notable formats and series she has worked on include “World of Dance,” “Hollywood Game Night,” “Last Comic Standing,” “Running Wild with Bear Grylls,” and “The Biggest Loser.”
Additionally, Griffin has produced a variety of shows, such as the syndicated “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Hulu’s “Dress My Tour,” Facebook’s “Cardi Tries,” Peacock’s “Hart to Heart,” and Disney+’s “Be Our Chef.”
Jodi Flynn, the president and head of content at Asylum Entertainment Group, expressed her confidence in Griffin’s abilities, stating, “LaNeé has a stellar track record for creating, developing, and producing formats around A-list talent. She’s a smart executive, incredible collaborator, and an experienced showrunner. She’s a perfect fit as we begin to carve out unscripted content with Tyler Perry Studios.”
The appointment of LaNeé Griffin as the senior VP of development and programming at Asylum Entertainment Group marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to expand its unscripted content offerings in partnership with Tyler Perry Studios.
