On Friday, the Obamas shared the quintessential social media posts celebrating their anniversary, ostensibly reaffirming their marriage.

Speculation about potential marital discord has been circulating since December, particularly after Michelle Obama notably omitted attending Jimmy Carter’s funeral and opted out of Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In an ongoing attempt to quell rumors regarding their relationship, the couple has resorted to exchanging affectionate notes online. However, skepticism persists among the public, especially given their infrequent public appearances together and Michelle’s candid critiques of her husband aired on her podcast.

Recently, Michelle Obama delivered another pointed comment regarding her spouse, suggesting during her summer podcast that she was relieved not to have a son, because he would likely have inherited Barack’s traits.

“Because he would’ve been a Barack Obama,” Michelle remarked.

Despite her sharp observations, Michelle later shared a heartfelt image of herself cozied up to Barack alongside a sentimental message for their 33rd anniversary.

“We’ve navigated an incredible journey over the last 33 years—and I find my love for you continues to grow stronger each day since we said ‘I do,’” Michelle expressed. “Happy anniversary, @BarackObama! I’m truly fortunate to share my life with you. ❤️”

In return, Barack Obama reciprocated with his own tribute, asserting, “The best decision I ever made was marrying you, @MichelleObama. For 33 years, I’ve admired your strength, grace, and determination—even more, I admire how great you look doing it all. Happy anniversary!”

Yet, a considerable portion of the audience remains unconvinced by these seemingly polished displays of affection.
