Barbra Streisand, a legendary figure in the entertainment industry, has been a constant presence in the music world for the past 65 years. Known for her versatility and talent, she has achieved EGOT status, a rare feat that recognizes her excellence in music, theater, film, and television.

At 83 years old, Streisand shows no signs of slowing down. She recently announced the release of her new album, “The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two,” featuring duets with iconic artists such as Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Ariana Grande, and Mariah Carey, among others. This album follows her massive 970-page memoir, “My Name Is Barbra,” which she accompanied with a 48-hour audiobook that she personally narrated. In addition, she is currently working on a multi-part documentary about her life directed by Frank Marshall.

Despite her busy schedule, Streisand humbly admits that she considers herself lazy and prefers to be free from commitments. However, her longtime producing partner, Jay Landers, convinced her to record new albums, leading to the creation of “The Secret of Life.” Streisand credits Landers, along with producers Peter Asher and Walter Afanasieff, for their collaboration on the album.

In a recent interview for the “Just for Variety” podcast, Streisand shared insights into her creative process and emotional connection to her music. When asked about the song selection and duet partners for her album, she revealed that the music always comes first, followed by the partner selection. Each duet partner brought a unique perspective and talent to the project, resulting in a diverse and captivating collection of songs.

Streisand’s ability to evoke deep emotional responses through her music was evident in her duet with Sam Smith on the song “To Lose You Again.” Reflecting on the lyrics and vocal performance, she acknowledged the complexity of portraying emotions in her music, especially when singing about lost love and longing.

Despite her immense success and influence in the music industry, Streisand remains humble and focused on creating meaningful art that resonates with her audience. She rarely listens to her own records or watches her movies, preferring to maintain a sense of distance and perspective on her work.

As she continues to inspire audiences with her timeless music and captivating performances, Barbra Streisand’s legacy as a music icon and cultural powerhouse remains unparalleled in the entertainment world. I don’t listen to my records.

Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey are two of the biggest and most wonderful voices in the music industry. When asked about collaborating with them on ā€œOne Heart, One Voice,ā€ the artist behind the project simply stated that they both agreed to join in.

In recent news, it was announced that Ariana Grande will be starring in the new ā€œMeet the Parentsā€ movie. When questioned about whether we will see Roz Focker again, the response was filled with surprise.

The conversation then shifted to the possibility of the artist playing the role of Roz Focker, which was met with humor and a mention of gender pay disparities in the past.

Talk then turned to watching the musical ā€œWickedā€ with grandchildren and the enjoyment of their reactions to the story.

When asked about serious acting offers, the artist mentioned receiving offers but not feeling ready to direct again.

The title of the album was inspired by a song called ā€œSecret O’ Lifeā€ by James Taylor, which reflects on appreciating the passage of time.

As for the possibility of performing live again, the artist expressed doubt but left a small window open for consideration.

The conversation concluded with a question about the upcoming election and the potential for a female president in the future. The artist shared a personal anecdote about their son’s musical talent and a surprising discovery of his vocal abilities.

Overall, the interview provided insight into the artist’s thoughts on various topics and offered a glimpse into their personal life.
