Brown Brothers Harriman, an investment management company, recently released its Q3 2025 investor letter for the BBH Select Series – Mid Cap Fund. The fund experienced a decrease of -0.9% on a total return basis in the quarter, contrasting with the Russell Midcap Index’s 5.3% return. Year-to-date, the Fund has decreased by -1.8% compared to the Index’s 10.4% return. The third quarter saw a surge in the low-quality rally that began late last year and continued to gain momentum throughout 2025.

One of the stocks highlighted in the fund’s investor letter for the third quarter of 2025 was Bruker Corporation (NASDAQ:BRKR). Bruker Corporation focuses on the development and manufacturing of scientific instruments and analytical and diagnostic solutions. The stock had a one-month return of 12.28% and had lost 19.82% of its value over the last 52 weeks. As of December 10, 2025, Bruker Corporation closed at $46.92 per share, with a market capitalization of $7.129 billion.

In the investor letter, BBH Select Series – Mid Cap Fund mentioned that Bruker Corporation was one of the largest detractors to performance in the quarter. The fund decided to exit both Globant S.A. and Bruker Corporation during the quarter due to sustained underperformance and to opportunistically harvest tax losses. These companies had been heavily impacted by tariffs and cuts in life science and academic funding. Any potential re-entry into these positions would be dependent on a stabilization in their performance.

Bruker Corporation is not among the 30 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds, with 50 hedge fund portfolios holding the stock at the end of the third quarter. While acknowledging the investment potential of Bruker Corporation, some AI stocks were deemed to offer greater upside potential with less downside risk.
