Bella Thorne has recently come forward with allegations against singer Charlie Puth, claiming that he turned on her after she refused to engage in a physical relationship with him. The former Disney star made these accusations in response to an Instagram post discussing Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall’s decision to not collaborate with Puth again.
Thorne, 27, revealed that Puth, 33, spread lies about her and incited hate towards her because she did not comply with his advances. This revelation sheds light on a tumultuous period in their past relationship, which was briefly publicized in December 2016. At the time, Puth and Thorne were romantically linked, with Puth even serenading Thorne on-stage at Jingle Ball in Miami.
However, their relationship took a turn for the worse when Puth publicly accused Thorne of cheating on her then-boyfriend, Tyler Posey. In a series of now-deleted tweets, Puth expressed his dismay at being misled by Thorne and apologized to Posey for unknowingly getting involved in their drama.
Thorne refuted these claims on social media, stating that she and Posey had broken up over two weeks prior to her interactions with Puth. She clarified that she and Puth were just friends, and any miscommunication stemmed from an old interview that Puth had misinterpreted.
Both Thorne and Puth have since moved on from the controversy. Thorne announced her engagement to Mulberry founder Mark Emms in May 2023, while Puth tied the knot with Brooke Sansone in September 2024. Puth shared a heartfelt poem on Instagram to declare his love for Sansone, expressing gratitude for her presence in his life.
Despite the past drama between Thorne and Puth, both parties have found happiness in their respective relationships, showing that time and personal growth can heal old wounds.
