Democratic lawmakers in both the House and Senate have been actively engaging with constituents through town halls and virtual events ever since Donald Trump took office. These events have gained popularity among the American people, despite receiving little attention from the mainstream media.

One such event that has garnered significant interest is Sen. Bernie Sanders’ upcoming nationwide tour, starting on Friday night in Omaha, Nebraska. Although Omaha is located in a predominantly red state, the overwhelming response from the public has prompted a venue change to accommodate a larger audience.

The town hall, titled “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here,” will now take place at the Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capitol District. The updated itinerary for the event includes doors opening at 5:30 p.m. CT, with the event starting at 6:30 p.m. CT. Free parking will be available on-site, and attendees are reminded that bags, signs, and firearms are not allowed. While tickets are not required, an RSVP is encouraged for those planning to attend.

Following the event in Omaha, Sen. Sanders’ tour will continue in Iowa City, IA, on Saturday night. The overarching theme of the tour is to address the growing wealth disparity in the country, with Sen. Sanders emphasizing the need to fight back against the oligarchy that is consolidating power and wealth at the expense of working-class Americans.

The tour is expected to be national in scope, targeting working-class House districts with the goal of mobilizing voters to support Democratic candidates in the upcoming elections. By shining a spotlight on the issues of income inequality, healthcare, childcare, and housing, Sen. Sanders hopes to galvanize grassroots support for progressive policies and candidates.

The Fighting Oligarchy tour represents a significant effort to engage with the American people and mobilize support for a more equitable and just society. With the momentum building against the Trump administration and its agenda, events like these provide an important platform for citizens to voice their concerns and advocate for change.
