Readers in Pennsylvania have been eagerly anticipating this announcement: Sen. Bernie Sanders is set to bring his Fighting Oligarchy Tour to the Keystone State.
In a recent announcement, Sanders stated:
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has revealed new dates for his Fighting Oligarchy tour, which will feature Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-Pa.) joining him for rallies in Pennsylvania’s 7th and 10th Congressional Districts. Additionally, Sanders will participate in a May Day event in Philadelphia on Thursday, May 1st, alongside the city’s AFL-CIO chapter.
Both Harrisburg and Bethlehem are districts in contention, currently represented by Republicans. In the closely watched 2024 elections, Republican Scott Perry managed to hold onto Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, winning by a slim margin of approximately 1.26%. Similarly, in Pennsylvania’s 7th District, Republican Ryan Mackenzie edged out the Democratic incumbent by nearly 1%. These races exemplified the fierce competition in the state.
Rep. Scott Perry has garnered a reputation for avoiding town halls and is notably the only member of Congress named in Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
Sen. Sanders emphasized:
Let me be unequivocal: the movement we are fostering is making Republicans uneasy—quite understandably. When Elon Musk ridicules our supporters and Donald Trump fabricates stories about our crowds, it’s evident we’re hitting a nerve. Just last week, four GOP members from districts we visited opposed substantial cuts to Medicaid. While their statement didn’t go far enough, it demonstrates that grassroots advocacy can yield results—and four votes could halt these cuts in the House.
This endeavor transcends mere rallies. We are actively hiring organizers, conducting virtual training sessions, and pressuring members of Congress in their offices. Moreover, we are empowering everyday working individuals to run for office across all levels—because that’s how we create a government that serves everyone, not just the wealthy elite.

House Republicans are already burdened by the fallout from Trump’s presidency, and successfully flipping the two Pennsylvania U.S. House seats could place the GOP majority in a precarious position.
