The Golden State Valkyries are gearing up for a rematch against the New York Liberty after a tough 95-67 loss in their first meeting. The expansion team is looking to put up a better fight this time around in Brooklyn.

On the other hand, the defending champs, the New York Liberty, are aiming to maintain their unbeaten streak in the upcoming game against the Valkyries. Led by star players Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones, and Natasha Cloud, the Liberty are heavily favored to secure their fifth consecutive win.

In terms of injuries, the Valkyries are facing some challenges. Tiffany Hayes is questionable with a nose injury, potentially missing her third straight game. Monique Billings is also uncertain to play due to a foot injury, while Cecilia Zandalasini remains questionable with a right foot injury. Additionally, Maria Conde is sidelined following knee surgery.

On the Liberty side, Nyara Sabally is dealing with a right knee issue that may keep her out of the game against the Valkyries.

As for the predicted starting lineups and depth charts, the Valkyries are expected to start with Veronica Burton, Kayla Thornton, Janelle Salaun, Stephanie Talbot, and Temi Fagbenle. Meanwhile, the Liberty are likely to field Natasha Cloud, Sabrina Ionescu, Leonie Fiebich, Breanna Stewart, and Jonquel Jones as their starters.

Key matchups to watch out for in the game include Temi Fagbenle against Breanna Stewart. Fagbenle will need to step up defensively against Stewart, who dominated in their previous matchup. Additionally, Jonquel Jones poses a challenge for the Valkyries, as they will need to find a way to contain her inside presence while also dealing with Stewart’s scoring threat.
