The “Big Bang Theory” Spinoff Series Finds First Three Cast Members

The highly anticipated “Big Bang Theory” spinoff series has made significant progress with the announcement of its first three cast members. According to Variety, Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and Kevin Sussman have been confirmed to star in the upcoming show, which is currently in development at Max. While specific plot details are still shrouded in secrecy, fans can expect to see these familiar faces reprising their roles from the original series.

Although the show has not yet received a green light for a full series, Posehn, Lapkus, and Sussman have already signed talent holding deals. The project is being executive produced by Chuck Lorre, one of the co-creators of “The Big Bang Theory,” under Chuck Lorre Productions. Lorre’s production company has a deal with Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind the series.

Representatives for Warner Bros. Television and Max declined to provide further details about the project at this time.

Kevin Sussman, known for his role as Stuart Bloom, the owner of the comic book store in “The Big Bang Theory,” became a fan favorite after appearing in over 80 episodes of the show. Brian Posehn portrayed Bert Kibbler, a geologist at Caltech, and Lauren Lapkus played Denise, the assistant manager of the comic book store and Stuart’s love interest.

Posehn’s extensive television credits include “Mr. Show with Bob and David,” “Just Shoot Me,” and “New Girl,” as well as multiple film appearances. Lapkus has also appeared in popular shows like “Orange Is the New Black” and “Comedy Bang! Bang!” along with notable film roles.

With a potential series order, this spinoff would mark the fourth installment in the “Big Bang Theory” franchise. Following the original series and the successful prequel “Young Sheldon,” fans can look forward to more adventures in this beloved universe.
