On Monday evening, Letitia James emphatically raised her fist during her first public appearance following a federal grand jury’s indictment on two counts against her.

The New York Attorney General, who’s gained notoriety for her legal pursuits against former President Trump, was indicted last Thursday by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia.

According to the Department of Justice, James faces charges of Bank Fraud as defined under 18 U.S.C. Section 1344, and making False Statements to a Financial Institution under 18 U.S.C. Section 1014.

These serious allegations revolve around a mortgage loan for a property she owns in Norfolk, Virginia.

The indictment signals troubling times for James, with TGP contributor Joel Gilbert indicating that a superseding indictment may be forthcoming.

After branding herself as a relentless adversary who intended to be a “real pain” for Trump, it seems that the tables have turned for her.

Notably, James has pursued legal action against Trump, attempting to win a judgment exceeding $400 million and to seize his assets, all without identifying a concrete victim for her claims.

Now, much to bemusement, she adopts the role of a victim herself.

At a rally for the far-left New York Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, James appeared before her supporters, who chanted, “We love Tish!” while she declared, “We are here tonight because we are ready to turn the page on the cynical, broken politics of the past.”

She continued her speech with pointed remarks, stating, “We see powerful voices trying to silence truth and punish dissent and yes… weaponize justice for political gain.”

James solemnly declared, “We are witnessing the fraying of our democracy, the erosion of our system of government. This, my friends, is a divine moment in our history.”
