Former President Bill Clinton returned to Oklahoma City on Saturday to remember the people who were killed and comfort those affected by the bombing. He delivered the keynote address at a remembrance ceremony near the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum.

Clinton was president when a truck bomb exploded, destroying a nine-story federal building in downtown Oklahoma City. He was widely praised for helping the city cope with its grief and has visited the memorial museum several times since then.

Clinton recalled his first visit to Oklahoma City after the bombing, where he spoke at a memorial service for the victims. He emphasized the commitment to stand with the city in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Clinton has spoken at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum on various anniversaries of the bombing. He highlighted the importance of learning from the “Oklahoma Standard” to promote unity and kindness in the face of adversity.

Clinton also warned about the dangers of divisive politics and how it can lead to violence, echoing the sentiments of unity and service exemplified by the Oklahoma City community.

Saturday’s ceremony, which included speakers like former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating and former Oklahoma City Mayor Ron Norick, paid tribute to the 168 lives lost in the bombing. A procession to the outdoor memorial followed the indoor ceremony.

The memorial, located on the grounds where the federal building once stood, features a museum, a reflecting pool, and 168 empty chairs in honor of the victims.

Among the children’s memorial’s top goals is to convey the tragedy of political violence and educate a new generation about the impact of the bombing, according to Kari Watkins, the memorial’s president and CEO.

“When we constructed this memorial, we anticipated that we would eventually reach a generation who either weren’t alive or didn’t recall the events,” Watkins explained. “Now, not only are children visiting more frequently, but also teachers who are instructing these young students.” sentence: Please rewrite the sentence so that it is easier to understand. given task in a more concise manner. given sentence:
